The University of Pennsylvania is committed to providing and promoting a safe and healthy learning, teaching and research environment. The University of Pennsylvania establishes this Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Policy to protect staff from potential health and safety hazards associated with the handling and use of hazardous chemicals, physical hazards, and other hazards. PPE shall be used in conjunction with engineering controls, administrative controls and good work practices where feasible and appropriate. Whenever engineering controls are not available or capable of providing complete protection, an employee must wear PPE following guidance provided in the PPE policy.
