RADIOACTIVE WASTE COLLECTION SCHEDULE

RAM WASTE COLLECTION

EHRS provides RAM waste pick up services for all University of Pennsylvania, as well as those in the Hospital, the Wistar Institute, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and the Science Center. Laboratories desiring a routine waste pickup should complete the Routine RAM Waste Pickup Request Form.

To prepare dry waste for pick up close the bag containing the waste with tape (DO NOT USE "Caution, Radioactive Material" tape), complete a Radioactive Waste Tag, and attach it to the bag. Any bags without a transfer memo will not be picked up. Reference the Radiation Safety User Guide for additional information on waste disposal requirements.. If you have any questions about the pickup, need other information, or believe your waste pick-up has been missed, call Ron Heller at 215.651.0550 or send email to ronaldch@ehrs.upenn.edu.

WASTE PICK-UP SCHEDULES
Radioactive waste from the following buildings will be collected on Tuesday or Wednesday if the Pick-up Requests are submitted by the previous Friday.

Stellar Chance BRB II/III Abramson Lynch Leidy Kaplan Mudd
Chemistry Vagelos Hill Pavilion Old Vet. Ryan Vet. Hospital HUP Wistar


Radioactive waste from the following buildings will be collected on the third Friday of each month if the Pick-up Request is submitted by the previous Wednesday.
TRL Dental School Presbyterian Med. Ctr.
Monell Center Science Center


 

Radioactive waste from the following buildings will be collected during quarterly audits.
New Bolton Center Glenolden
