Training Programs


Training programs are required by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) for all employees who work with hazardous substances including: chemicals, human blood, blood products, fluids, and human tissue specimens.  The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection requires training for all individuals handling chemical or infections waste.  

In addition, State, Federal and local regulations and accrediting agencies require Radiation Safety Training for all personnel using radioactive materials or radiation producing equipment.  

These programs are developed and presented by the Office of Environmental Health & Radiation Safety using instructor led or web-based formats. To determine which training programs you are required to take, review the section "Training Requirements."  and complete the Penn Profiler .
