Access to the laboratory is limited or restricted at all times If NO, then Doors to lab must be kept closed when infectious materials are in use to alert non-lab personnel not to enter the lab.
Laboratory personnel wash their hands after they handle viable materials, remove gloves, and before they leave the laboratory. If NO, then Hand washing is one of the most important ways of controlling infection. Personnel must wash their hands after glove removal, before leaving the laboratory, and at the end of the day. Click here for more information.
All procedures are performed carefully to minimize the creation of splashes and aerosols. If NO, then Procedures with potential to create aerosols or splashes of infectious materials must be performed in a biosafety cabinet.
