Office of Environmental Health & Radiation Safety personnel are responsible for reviewing architectural/construction documents for general health and safety concerns before, during and after construction for all "science buildings" and for asbestos concerns in all buildings to be modified or renovated.
JUSTIFICATION: The specialized nature of many University operations, the complexity and volume of codes and concerns that have an impact on facilities requires the careful review of projects prior to the beginning of work. Identifying and mitigating concerns prior to the beginning of work also makes good economic sense.
The needs assessment below may help a reviewer identify and address safety concerns.
